Carrie Underwood is engaged to marry Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher, who popped the question over the weekend, according to reports out of Canada.
The Ottawa Senators player confirmed the news on Monday, according to the Toronto Sun.
“It’s true,” he is quoted as saying. “We’re both obviously excited and very happy.”
Underwood, 26, and Fisher, 29, have kept their year-long relationship mostly under the radar, but Underwood declared her love for Fisher in the liner notes of her new album, Play On.
“I love you so much!” she wrote. “You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day.”
