Usher is officially a single man.
The Superior Court in Fulton County, Georgia, issued a final decree Wednesday in the R&B singer’s divorce case, legally ending his two-year marriage to Tameka Foster Raymond, the Associated Press reports.
Usher, 31, filed for divorce in June, claiming the marriage was “irretrievably broken” with “no reasonable hope of reconciliation.” The couple have two sons, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely Raymond. –Mike Fleeman
The search is over – and the Oscars are counting on two wild and crazy guys to host the 82nd Academy Awards.
Let the banter begin: “I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin,” says Steve Martin, who will share the stage with the 30 Rock actor.
“I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it’s the opportunity of a lifetime,” says Baldwin.
Martin, 64, who hosted the 73rd and 75th Academy Awards, and Baldwin, 51, a 2003 supporting actor nominee for The Coolor, are both multiple hosts of Saturday Night Live. They will follow Hugh Jackman as emcees of the biggest Hollywood award show, which like other award programs has been stung by lower ratings.
“We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars,” said show producers Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic. “Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event.”
The 82nd Academy Awards will be broadcast Sunday, March 7, on ABC from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
Although she’s the female lead in the Twilight franchise (last year, the first film grossed nearly $400 million worldwide), Kristen Stewart doesn’t emulate other blockbuster actresses — not even Brad Pitt’s girl.
“I don’t want to be a movie star like Angelina Jolie,” Stewart tells BlackBook magazine.
But seeing her name in lights is sort of fun, right?
“Nothing about being a celebrity is desirable,” the 19 year-old insists. “I’m an actor. It’s bizarre to me that everybody’s so obsessive.”
One topic of obsession: her relationship with onscreen lover Robert Pattinson, 23. Pattinson recently told Vanity Fair that, despite intense speculation otherwise, they are simply “good friends,” and that he considers her “the best young actress around.”
But Stewart made a thoughtful observation about Edward Cullen, Pattinson’s Twilight character.
“Edward is actually a really good parallel to fame,” she muses. “As a vampire, he has a sad, desolate life — fame is the same.”

The singer Jamelia has filed for divorce from footballer Darren Byfield after 18 months of marriage.
The 28-year-old moved out of the couple’s home last week and has instructed her lawyers.
The couple have a daughter together, four-year-old Tiani, and Jamelia also has an eight-year-old daughter Teja.

Walsall player Darren was accused of cheating on Jamelia during their engagement, and they split. They then reunited for the sake of their children.
The couple wed in a lavish ceremony in East Sussex in June last year.
They released a statement saying that no-one else was involved in their decision to end their marriage.

‘It is with regret that Jamelia and Darren Byfield today confirm they are splitting up and getting a divorce,’ it said.
‘No one else is involved. Their priority is naturally their two children.’
A friend told the Sun: ‘Their relationship has been through lots of ups and downs. Jamelia took him back after he was accused of straying, but the last year has been tough.
‘Jamelia decided to leave last week and there is no going back this time.’
The dreamy Rob Pattinson is on the cover of Vanity Fair this month, and opens up in an interview that pretty much shoots down all the reports from the last few months.
All we want to know about is whether Rob is really dating his co-star Kristen Stewart. There’s been much fuel to the fire, with even on-set sources alluding to their relationship.
Catherine Hardwicke said, “What Rob and Kristen had is a multitude of feelings for each other. Complex feelings for each other. It was what we needed. Complex, intense fascination.”
Writer Evgenia Peretz also added to the hype, saying, “It’s very likely that their off-screen relationship mirrored their on-screen one: an intense attraction that couldn’t be realized. During the shoot, Stewart was with her long-term boyfriend, actor Michael Angarano.”
“She and Pattinson have mastered the not-touching thing. She even throws the crowd a few curveballs by over-flirting with muscle-bound Taylor Lautner.”
But Rob is quick to set the record straight. He tells Vanity Fair, “[We’re] good friends. I think she’s the best young actress around. She’s influenced how I’ve done all the ‘Twilight’ stuff. It’s quite nice to have someone who is genuinely indifferent to the whole spectacle of everything.â€
Rob continues, “It doesn’t make any difference what you say [to the tabloids]. I’ve literally been across the country [from Kristen], and it’s like ‘Oh, they were on secret dates!’ It’s like ‘Where? I can’t get out of my hotel room!'”
Hollywood actor Mel Gibson became a father for the eighth time, it was revealed last night.
The Braveheart actor had the baby girl with his 39-year-old Russian girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva on Friday.
The birth was a few weeks early, but mother and baby are doing well at home, reports in the U.S. claimed.

The 53-year-old had previously seemed delighted to be a father again – giving the thumbs-up sign on an American chat show when asked whether Miss Grigorieva was expecting his baby.
He told Tonight Show host Jay Leno: ‘This is true. We are going to have a child. I could not be happier about that.’
Gibson told the chat show host he met Miss Grigorieva last year, after the musician had been signed to his Icon Records label.

But he insisted she had ‘absolutely not’ been a reason for his marriage breakdown.
Gibson separated from his wife of 28 years, Robyn, in 2006 and is currently in the process of divorcing her.
Mrs Gibson, 52, cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their split in divorce papers and could take half of her husband’s £700million fortune under Californian law.
She filed the documents just weeks after Gibson was photographed embracing a bikini-clad woman, thought to be Miss Grigorieva, near his home in Costa Rica.
In an earlier interview Gibson held his hands up over the end of his marriage.
‘When it’s all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself, you know,’ he said. ‘I’m to blame. If you are inclined to judge, put it here.’
The Oscar winner separated from his wife shortly after his arrest for drink-driving, when he famously launched into an alcohol-fuelled anti-Semitic tirade.
‘These things happen. It’s unfortunate. But, you know, she is an admirable woman. We have still got kids to raise together. We are friends.’
Gibson has seven children with his estranged wife, six sons and one daughter: Hannah, 28; twins Christian and Edward, 26; William, 24; Louis, 21; Milio, 19; and Thomas, 10.
His wife is seeking joint custody of their youngest child.
Grigorieva has a 12-year-old son from James Bond actor Timothy Dalton.
Karolina Kurkova is the proud mother of a boy.
“Supermodel and GI Joe actress Karolina Kurkova, 25, and film producer of Voices of Iraq, Archie Drury, welcomed a son Thursday in New York,” her rep confirms to PEOPLE. “Both mother and baby are happy and healthy.”
The baby boy, named Tobin Jack Drury, weighed in at 6 lbs. 3 oz., and is the first child for the couple.
The birth comes just two weeks after Kurkova celebrated at her baby shower with actress Michelle Monaghan and fellow Victoria’s Secret models Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima (who is also expecting) at Abe & Arthur’s restaurant in N.Y.C.
“She looked amazing at her shower and she’s super excited,” Ambrosio told PEOPLE at the launch of Victoria’s Secret Beauty Velvet after the shower.
Ambrosio, who had a daughter last year, says the Victoria’s Secret models are baby crazy. “It’s just great that we’re all at the same time in our lives. We’re all having babies, we’re thinking about play dates. We’re going shopping for the babies,” she says. “If we have time, we’re together we’re talking about babies!”
