Legendary record producer Phil Spector was sentenced Friday to 19 years to life for his second-degree murder conviction for shooting actress Lana Clarkson.

Spector, 69, who worked with The Ronettes, The Beatles, Cher and Ike and Tina Turner, was accused of shooting Clarkson, 40, in the mouth in the foyer of his castle-like home in the Los Angeles suburb of Alhambra. The Feb. 3, 2003, shooting occurred hours after the two met at the House of Blues nightclub, where Clarkson worked as a hostess.

Spector has denied murdering Clarkson. His attorneys suggested Clarkson committed suicide. But several witnesses testified that Spector for years had bullied and tormented them with guns.

Spector was convicted in April in a retrial after a previous jury deadlocked in 2007.

Before the sentencing, the victim’s mother, Donna Clarkson, told the judge she was heartbroken over the death of her daughter. “All our plans together are destroyed. Now I can only visit her in the cemetery,” she said.

Clarkson’s family has also filed a wrongful death lawsuit, which has not yet gone to trial.

Terrence Howard and his Fighting costar Zulay Henao are not engaged, JustJared.com confirms.

Several false reports have stated that Terrence proposed to Zulay at a bar in Prague while filming his new WWII flick Red Tails, after she jetted over to Europe to visit him.

“Not true,” Howard’s rep tells JustJared.com. “Terrence is not engaged to Zulay.”

“Very fake,” Zulay’s rep adds.

ER star Parminder Nagra and her husband, photographer James Stenson, have welcomed son Kai David Singh Stenson, a rep for the actress confirms to PEOPLE.

“Mother, daddy, and baby are all doing great,” says the rep. The child was born on May 19.

After finding out Nagra was pregnant, producers of the NBC medical drama decided to incorporate her pregnancy in some final episodes.

“We were trying to juggle how that was going to work because she [was] starting to show,” ER executive producer John Wells said at the time. “What seemed sort of tragic at first … when we talked about it … there was a tremendous feeling of, ‘Oh, there’s this one [story] that we haven’t done,’ so it’s actually very exciting.”

Nagra, 33, and Stenson, 34, announced the pregnancy in December and were married the following month after seven years together.

The actress first rose to fame with her role in Bend It Like Beckham. She played Neela Rasgota on NBC’s medical drama ER.
