Glee Star Cory Monteith Dies at 31

Cory Monteith Dead at 31

Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead Saturday in his room at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel. He was 31.

“We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate,” his rep said in a statement. “We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.”

The cause of death was not immediately apparent, and an autopsy was set for Monday. Police said there were no indications of foul play but would not discuss what, if anything, was found in room.

According to police, the actor was out Friday night with friends and returned to his 21st floor room in the early morning hours.

“There were others with Mr. Monteith in his room earlier (Friday) night, but video and fob key entries show him returning to his room by himself in the early morning hours and we believe he was alone when he died,” said Acting Police Chief Doug LePard

Monteith had checked in July 6. He was due to check out Saturday.

“When he missed his check-out time, staff went to the room at noon and found his body,” said LePard.

It was also said that he had been dead for several hours by the time his body was discovered.

“We know there will be considerable interest in this case, and we have detectives assigned to the case who attended with our Forensic Identification Unit to examine the scene, to ensure to the extent possible that there are no unanswered questions,” said the acting chief. “Hotel video has been secured as well as room access records. Our investigators have spoken with hotel staff, who are providing the utmost in cooperation.”

LePard added: “On behalf of the Vancouver Police, I want to pass on our condolences to the family, friends, castmates and millions of fans of Mr. Monteith. As was the case in countless homes, I watched Glee regularly with my daughters, and I know there will be shock and sadness in many households with the news of his tragic death.”

Born in Calgary, Monteith began his acting career in Vancouver, and was cast as Finn Hudson on the FOX musical series when it debuted in 2009.

Earlier this year, Monteith admitted himself into a facility for substance addiction. He was released in April.

Halle Berry Is Married

Halle Berry, Olivier Martinez: Marriage Ceremony in France

Never say never.

Halle Berry is a bride once more.

The expectant Oscar-winner, 46, wed French film star Olivier Martinez, 47, Saturday at the Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France, reports the French website Pure People.

The ceremony took place in a small chateau, where, in accordance with French law, a civil union was held (at 4 p.m.), followed by a religious ceremony at 5:30 at the chapel in the village.

Among the 60 people, mostly close friends, in attendance were the groom’s mother Rosemarie and brother Vincent. Dinner was held under an arbor, and there was a fireworks display.

Six years ago the Oscar winner told InStyle, “I will never, never get married again.” But four days ago the duo boarded a flight to Paris with Berry’s daughter, 5-year-old Nahla.

The pair met in 2010 while co-starring in Dark Tide. Although the movie was a flop, their chemistry has been red-hot ever since their romance spilled off-screen.

“She has called him ‘The One,’ ” says Sophie Dulac, president of the Champs-Elysées Film Festival, which the couple attended together in Martinez’s native Paris last month. “She’s said she never expected to meet this Frenchman, to fall in love like she has.”

“They seem truly in love,” Dulac also said. “I’ve known Olivier very well and have never seen him like this.”

The crinkle-eyed Frenchman proposed in early 2012 and presented Berry with an emerald engagement ring by Paris designer Robert Mazlo.

In April, the couple revealed they’re expecting their first child together – a boy – early this fall, an unexpected joy Berry has called “the biggest surprise of my life.” The baby will join big sister Nahla, Berry’s daughter with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey.

This marks Berry’s third trip down the aisle. She was previously married to baseball player David Justice in the early 1990s and to singer Eric Benét in the early 2000s.

This is a first marriage for Martinez, who previously dated singer Kylie Minogue.

Ali Landry Welcomes Son Valentine Francesco

Ali Landry Welcomes Son Valentine Francesco

Ali Landry‘s littlest guy is here!

The former model and actress, 39, and her husband, director Alejandro Monteverde welcomed their third child — and second son — on Thursday, July 11, PEOPLE confirms.

Valentine Francesco Monteverde was born in Los Angeles and weighed in at 9 lbs. The newborn shares a birthday with big sister Estela Ines, who turned 6.

After announcing she was pregnant with a baby boy in March, Landry told PEOPLE in June that her newest son’s middle name was inspired by a meeting with the Pope she and her husband had earlier this year during a trip to Rome.

“We got to meet the Pope and he blessed this baby. So part of the name might have something to do with our new Pope,” she says. “The other part of the name we came up with on our own.”

Landry also admitted in July that the couple’s children Marcelo Alejandro, 21 months, and Estela, were wary of their unborn brother.

“[Marcelo] wants to be with me all the time and he’s very much still a baby,” Landry told The Bump.

As for her firstborn, she’s aware “double trouble” is on the way, joked the mom-of-three.

“We were at the doctor’s office and the doctor said, ‘How do you like your little brother?’ And she said, ‘He pulls my hair,’” Landry said. “Then the doctor asked, ‘So what do you think about having a new brother?’ And she’s like, ‘I’m going to be bald.’”

Wiz Khalifa Marries Amber Rose

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose Are Married
If a tattoo and a son didn’t make it official, this just did.

Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa have long expressed their love for one another – they have a son together and Rose has a tattoo of Khalifa on her arm – but now the pair are officially married, his rep confirms to PEOPLE. Rose, 29, and Khalifa, 25, both announced their marriage via Twitter on Monday.

The model kept her statement simple: “Yay me and my baby are officially married!!!” Rose Tweeted.

Khalifa also acknowledged the marriage, but said that they will have a ceremony to celebrate their nuptials this fall. “Me and Amber got married today. Weddings this fall. Thought I’d let yall know,” the rapper Tweeted.

The couple’s son, Sebastian Taylor Thomaz, was born Feb. 21.

George Clooney and Stacy Keibler Split

George Clooney, Stacy Keibler Split

George Clooney and Stacy Keibler have split.

The couple, who began dating two years ago, apparently want different things in life.

“Stacy called it quits. She wants to have children and a family someday. She knows where George stands on that,” a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE exclusively. “They talked and they quietly stopped being a couple several weeks ago.”

The source also says Clooney, 52, and Keibler, 33, will remain on good terms: “They talk every day. They were friends before they started dating and they’ll be friends after. It was a friendly [breakup].”

Although she wants to be a mom one day, it’s clear Keibler is already a dedicated godmother. She Tweeted a birthday wish to her goddaughter with a series of hashtags – “#mylove #myheart #mygoddaughter” – on June 10, before posting an inspiring message the next day about going through tough times. “Trying times are not the times to stop trying,” she Tweeted.

The news of a split comes after the pair have spent a lot of time apart. They were last photographed together in March in Berlin, where Clooney was filming his upcoming drama Monuments Men.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE to promote her new show Supermarket Superstar, premiering July 22 on Lifetime, Keibler spoke about her hectic schedule and her desire to travel this summer.
“My schedule is keeping me pretty busy until the show airs and then hopefully I’ll get the chance to go to Europe,” she said. (Look for more from Keibler’s interview in an upcoming issue of PEOPLE.)

But while Clooney was photographed boarding a boat near his Italian villa on July 4, Keibler partied with girlfriends in Los Angeles at a starry bash thrown by top Hollywood manager Guy Oseary and hosted by DeLeon Tequila.

“They haven’t seen each other in a while and they’ve both been working so much, so in recent months, they’ve started growing apart,” a second source tells PEOPLE.

Elisha Cuthbert Marries Hockey Star Dion Phaneuf

Elisha Cuthbert Weds Dion Phaneuf
Elisha Cuthbert has found her real-life Happy Ending.

The Canadian actress, 32, wed her longtime love, Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf, 28, on Saturday at Prince Edward Island, according to the Journal Pioneer and Toronto Star.

More than 300 guests were expected to flock to the reception, reports the National Post, after the newlyweds exchanged vows at the St. James Catholic Church in Summerfield.

Star reporter Rosie DiManno live-Tweeted their big day from inside the church, which was decorated with maple leaves. Bridesmaids donned pale pink fishtail gowns, she wrote, and the bride herself was chauffeured in a black Chevrolet Camaro convertible.

“It’s a big wedding,” Rev. Paul Egan, who led the service, told the Post pre-nuptials. “Probably the biggest I’ve ever done in my 46 years, as far as the celebrity part of it goes.”

Prince Edward Island was a meaningful choice for the couple, who often spend their summers on the picturesque eastern Canadian island, according to The Toronto Star. Canada’s Global News reported that the duo planned an outdoor wedding followed by a party with family and friends and culminating with fireworks over the water.

The nuptials are a fitting end to the couple’s long courtship, which began five years ago.

Phaneuf popped the question last September and announced their engagement to 35 friends and family during a lobster dinner at New Glasgow Lobster, a restaurant on the island, according to the Star.

Manager Karl Nickelson told the Star his servers couldn’t help but notice her eye-catching engagement ring during the celebratory meal.

“They said it was pretty huge,” he said.
