Eminem is back with a vengeance, and his album is already crushing it in its first week on the shelves. According to music industry tip sheet HitsDailyDouble.com, Recovery has already sold 753,870 copies in week one.
When the official Neilson ratings come out, it will likely be made official that Eminem’s album will have had the biggest sales week of the year. And this isn’t the first time Eminem has wowed the puboic—his album Relapse had the biggest opening week of 2009 at the time of its release. This makes five consecutive solo albums to debut at #1.
In related news, Eminem will also be crossing over to TV by appearing on one of the biggest cable shows—Entourage. He’ll appear as himself on the show, ironically celebrating the success of his real-life album, Recovery, with a blow-out bash. Show creator Doug Ellin told EW that some drama will go down between Em and Adrian Grenier’s character. “He has a little conflict — a little beef — with Vince,” said Ellin.
Ellin told EW that the Eminem scene is set “at a platinum record party for his album, which by the time this airs will be platinum, I’m sure.â€
