Mario Lopez will now answer to a new title: daddy.
The actor-TV host and girlfriend Courtney Mazza welcomed their first child, a daughter, Gia Francesca Lopez, in Burbank, Calif., on Saturday, his show, Extra, is reporting. The baby weighed 6 lbs., 4 oz., and mother and daughter are reportedly doing well.
“We are so overjoyed,” Lopez, 36, told Extra. “What an amazing, wonderful and overwhelming experience to welcome our daughter into the world.”
Over the summer, Lopez, told PEOPLE he was doting on Mazza, 28. “I’m constantly trying to feed her because I want to have a really healthy, chubby baby,” he said at the time.
The Extra host also said he planned to write a book and create a reality show about first-time fatherhood. “There’s so much out there for women but not so much for men, and I want to be a very hands-on dad,” he said.
“I think having a humorous but informative way to tell that story would be great for a show.”
