Keira Knightley has more to celebrate than a Screen Actors Guild nomination! The actress is pregnant with her first child, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly. The New York Post’s Page Six was first to break the news.
Knightley, 29, who is married to singer James Righton of the Klaxons, has reportedly been avoiding alcohol, opting against the free-flowing champagne at the Sunday, Dec. 7 Moet British Independent Spirit Awards.
And while looking glamorous in pale pink and blue dress with feather detailing at the awards show, her midsection looked distinctly fuller than usual, and her dress choice was a departure from the tight-fitting gowns she’s worn in the past.
It’s a great time in the British actress’ life. On Wednesday, Dec. 10, it was announced that she had been nominated for Best Supporting Actress SAG award for her role as a codebreaker in The Imitation Game opposite Benedict Cumberbatch, boding well for her changes when it comes to Oscar noms.
But the down-to-earth actress isn’t letting award madness go to her head. She was seen out and about in London later that day, dressed down in a pair of baggy jeans and what seemed to be a man’s jumper, snuggled up against the cold in a sheepskin coat.
Knightley has spoken in the past about wanting to have children, but insisted work would continue to be important to her when she did.
“Would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No,” she told Vogue in 2013. “On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at.”
