Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge have called it quits after four years together, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly.
“They were in a bit of a rough patch for awhile,” one insider close to the American Sniper actress tells Us of the couple, who started dating quietly in 2011. “Their schedules on top of raising a child started to get to them.”
Sturridge, 29, and Miller, 33, welcomed their daughter, Marlowe, in July 2012. In an interview with London’s Time Out magazine this past January, the actress was frank about the ups and downs of motherhood. “It’s a shock, of course it is,” she said. “Some people find it really easy, but for me I found it really hard.”
While speaking with Vogue in its January 2015 issue, she spoke more affectionately about parenting little Marlowe. “It was like, ‘There you are — that’s what I have been missing,'” she said of raising her first child. “Like we’re both in on something only we know. An amazing sense of being complicit with a little being.”
The Factory Girl star, interestingly enough, hinted at a possible split while discussing her role in Clint Eastwood‘s Oscar-nominated drama American Sniper. “I had a huge amount of empathy for Taya [the widow of Chris Kyle],” Miller told Time Out in the same interview. “To be going through motherhood on her own, not knowing whether her husband would survive every day, I can’t imagine how difficult that would be.”
Still, she spoke fondly about Sturridge in her Vogue cover story, describing the British hunk as a “grounded, intelligent, kind, and intact person.”
Earlier this month, the family went on vacation together in Formentera, Spain, where the actress showcased her lean bikini body.
Miller, who’s experienced her fair share of drama in her previous relationship with Jude Law, noted to the mag that it was “amazing to be around” her beau. “That’s the father of my child,” she gushed to Vogue. “There’s no drama.”
