Soulja Boy was arrested early Tuesday morning after cops found a “substantial amount” of marijuana, cash and guns inside his car during a traffic stop in Georgia.
The rapper (real name DeAndre Cortez Way), 21, was with three bodyguards when their vehicle was stopped by officers in Temple, Ga., at 3:15 a.m. All five men in the Cadillac Escalade, including the driver, were arrested, and police are investigating whether any of the men had licenses to be in possession of the firearms, reports TMZ.
They are being held in Carrol County Jail on felony charges of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm, police spokeswoman Dana Rampy told Reuters.
A puppy found in the car was released to the driver’s relatives, Rampy added. The rapper’s rep had no comment.
